Feeling Good

I posted earlier in some comments section somewhere about how I figured eating just half my pizza and using the Playstation dancemat constitute something approaching a healthy lifestyle. But actually, the only thing I did yesterday that is out of the ordinary is use the dancemat (sorry, I can't bring myself to call it a Rave Station) and Jungle Book Groove Party and today I'm feeling all energised and cheery. This is good. So tonight I will beat Baloo. I might even move up beyond "normal" level. I've been out and bought a PS1 memory card since the PS2 one I already own isn't happy to save from a PS1 game. Oversight on Sony's part or deliberate ploy to make people buy more peripherals? Hmm...

... I must admit I was tempted to get one of these also akicif and/or gothtart already has one and I discovered a site that had a mini (fingertip) dancemat for not a lot of money so you can play those games without the physical effort (or if you're in a wheelchair)

My thought was to combine a light gun game with a dance mat so that you could do the "walking around" bit on the mat (and have somewhere to stamp to reload the gun or change weapons) and have the light gun in your hands ...

... last night was two hours of Burnout, trying different cars on different tracks (and the supermini is really really different to drive on Riverside than the muscle car ... the supermini is so responsive and grips the road that you can bounce around traffic, but the muscle car just has so much power that when you can open up you just blow past everything else, the downside is that it is just so skittery as you try turning while accelerating and you find yourself going sideways into the scenery...)

mindygoth's just been to the GAME website & ordered Dance Dance Revolution (ok, it's called "Dancing Stage Euro Mix" or something for the UK market but apparently it's the same DDR as we watched up in Whitby) for our PSX.
And a pair of dance mats.
All we need to do now is to (a) get a big TV to see the thing on and (b) move it to somewhere with a solid floor so we don't dance through to the rooms below us!

Dancemat?

It's a big mat that you jump around on. It replaces the control pad and is made for use with dance games although supposedly other games can be controlled with it too.

Ah. Since I've no game console and no plans whatever to get one, I'm not up on the controllers.

Hmmm...unless it came with a MIDI interface...

I could get all boring and technical but don't worry, I won't inflict that on you =) Suffice to say that there's a reasonably decent reason that PS2 cards can't take PSX saves.

Hmm. Not technical, but still boring. I'll get me coat.
